Exciting awakening seeing this on my fb wall. Thanks David Trimble.
At first glance the young Fernando Gutierrez Martin doesn’t strike you as one of the race favorites. He doesn’t have a wannabe pro presentation and isn’t (yet) covered with intimidating tattoos. All that however goes out the window when he gets on the course with his aggressive never-say-die style of racing. For example while the roadies and seasoned veterans were sitting in at the Criterium Gijon Fernando was on the front beating his head against the wall to try and bring Tommaso Noli back. In Red Hook this type of mentality is what’s needed for a top ten finish.
